Save the planet one stitch at a time!

Every 10 skeins of Simply Soft Eco saves 6 plastic bottles from America's landfills.  Simply Soft Eco is a new blended yarn from Caron International that consists of 80% of our Simply Soft fiber and 20% of a specially processed fiber produced from recycled plastic bottles. The recycled plastic bottles are thoroughly cleaned and refined, a process that completely removes any residue from the plastic bottles.  This assures a fresh, clean yarn. (This same fiber is used in cotton/polyester sweaters and socks.) Simply Soft Eco is available at Wal-Mart in a broad palette of 21 solid and heathered shades.  

Simply Soft Eco is soft to the touch, easy to work with and environmentally friendly.  It can be used in any project that calls for Medium Weight (#4) yarn--just like Simply Soft.  A notable characteristic of about one quarter of the darker shades is white flecks randomly dispersed throughout the yarn.  These are the result of the specially processed fiber from the recycled plastic bottles. The flecks are not lint or the result of “pilling”. Knitters and crocheters have shared with us their comments about these flecks.
