New Fashion Yarns from Caron®
Warm and Snuggly
With temperatures dropping, we can't wait to get stated on wraps, sweaters, jackets, ponchos, and of course, throws. We have two brand new yarns that are sure to inspire and keep you warm—Fling™ and Simply Soft® Boucle™.

Fling™

An exciting new fashion yarn, Fling creates a super-soft multicolored fabric with a completely unique texture. Called a “pigtail’ yarn, Fling is a velvety soft multi-colored chenille with tiny sprigs of the same chenille along the main strand of yarn. (more . . .)

Simply Soft® Boucle

Picture your favorite Simply Soft colors in a loopy “curly lamb” yarn and you’ve got Simply Soft Boucle, a brand new fashion yarn with a wonderful lofty texture. Soft and airy, never bulky or heavy, Simply Soft Boucle looks like “curly lamb” and is every bit as soft. The squiggles and wiggles in the yarn give it a fun look whether knit or crocheted. (more . . .).

The New York Knit-Out 2005
Caron hit the New York runway this month at the 8th annual New York Knit-Out. Over-the-top garments little and not-so-little girls, using all our latest yarns in knit, crochet and machine knitting, made fashion news on the streets of New York! Check it out.
Tips from Cari

Fling is a most amazing yarn - it's texture rivals anything I've seen - but it can be challenging for crocheters and even knitters. Simply Soft Boucle is similar, though the resulting fabric is a bit denser.

Here's a tip for crocheters who would love to work with Fling but would like to be able to see actual stitches: hold a coordinating shade of Simply Soft together with Fling. This way, "aim" for the Simply Soft stitch and you'll catch the Fling stitch by default!

For Simply Soft Boucle, do the same thing, but use the same color and "aim" for the straight yarn when crocheting. You might also want to use a slightly larger hook than recommended.
