A "Jewel" of Style, Softness and Color
We might be biased, but we think Jewel Box™ is the perfect yarn for the holidays. The velvety chenille strand paired with a shimmery rayon strand give this yarn exceptional softness with a shot of dazzling color. Check out the complete color card to see what we mean. Then browse through these great FREE patterns, two knit and two crochet, for gift-making or for rewarding a special person in your life—you! |

Many of you have expressed your appreciation for working with Jewel Box, especially those of you who use the Ultimate Sweater Machine - it's the ideal yarn! But, as for all yarns, it's best for many things except a couple: fringe for example. Since Jewel Box is a combination of chenille yarns, it's best to use it in the body of the project and use Simply Soft for the fringe.

If you still want Jewel Box fringe, just work a chain loop fringe: First make a single crochet edge, say along the ends of a scarf. Then make a chain long enough that, when looped, is long enough for a fringe. Using a single crochet, attach the chain to the first sc along the edge. Repeat the chain loop and attach looped chain to the next sc. Repeat across so there is one loop for every sc across. You can also use this technique for making shorter and denser loopy fabric.
