NEW! Black Magic!
New bulky yarn produces a rich tapestry effect.

Create your own fashion magic with Caron’s newest yarn, Black Magic. Heralding the return to classic smooth yarns “with a twist”, Caron’s newest yarn, Black Magic, consists of a space-dyed brushed wool roving twisted around a bulky strand of black acrylic. With 7 dramatic colors, Black Magic brings a new color dimension to every project. The colors of Black Magic make it not only fun to look at while you work with it, but impressive to see in a finished garment.

Black Magic is a great accent yarn, especially when paired with a bulky yarn such as Simply Soft Quick or used alone in wide variety of projects: Hats, scarves, purses, totes, cell phone bags, vests, jackets, shrugs, sweaters and throws.

I love our new yarn Black Magic. I've been playing around with felting it and I really love how quickly it stitches up into something very cool. I even made a quick shrug in an evening with Allspice and it looks great.

We hope you've had a chance to stitch a few newborn caps for the Save the Children Caps to the Capital campaign. Caron is a proud sponsor of this wonderful program that helps save newborn babies' lives all around the world. The goal is one million caps by 2007, so keep stitching!

With this issue of Caron Connections we bring you 4 new free patterns, each using a different exciting Caron yarn. Take your pick and get started.

And for the little one in your life . . .

In our last issue of Caron Connections, we announced an exciting new program called "My Stitching Story". We asked to hear your favorite stitching story and you responded! We received so many wonderful stories, it was so difficult to choose just one winner. But choose, we did. We hope you enjoy Marcia's winning story (and the 3 runners up). And check back often to read more wonderful stories from your fellow readers.

We want to hear your story. Send your favorite story about knitting or crocheting to editor@caron-connections.com. Your story will be entered into a drawing for your choice of 6 skeins of any current Caron yarn. We will select a winner for every issue of Caron Connections, about twice each month. Winners' stories will be featured on Caron.com and Caron Connections.

We look forward to hearing your stories!

Happy stitching,

Cari Clement
