You've seen them. Movie stars sporting hand-knit sweaters in your favorite film. Child stars wrapped in crocheted afghans in tender celluloid family scenes. Vickie Howell has been noticing Hollywood's nod to our favorite crafts, too, and reports her discoveries on regular blog posts called "Movie Mondays." This week she's given us the yarn-y highlights from the animated feature film The Fantastic Mr. Fox. In addition to pointing out knit and crochet on film, Vickie scours the web for free projects that you can make to emulate (sort of) the star-dusted designs. So pull out the yarn and the popcorn and enjoy.

We know that little girls love to look like big girls. With designer Melissa Matthay's Bellmoor Toddler Jacket knit in bamboo-blend Spa, your little one will feel "all grown up". A stylish three-button closure and an easy—but fashion-forward—textured stitch, make this a true toddler-pleaser. And the loopy accent collar just may steal her heart, too.

Remember the dolman sleeve sweaters we enthusiastically stitched and wore in the Eighties? As you may have noticed the uber-comfortable style is back in so many ready-to-wear garments. Revisit the trend with designer John E Lachett's gorgeous rendition, the Lacy Dolman Pullover knit in Simply Soft®. Paired with the soft and supple matching Lacy Tank (below) you'll be right in step with the times.

Every wardrobe needs "the perfect tank". Designer John E Lachett has provided just that with his Lacy Tank. While it looks fabulous under the Lacy Dolman Pullover (above) this tank could also take on a life of its own over skirts, jeans, floods and even shorts. Stitch a little more length to create a lovely tunic or springtime dress. The easy rib stitch—knit in Simply Soft—makes this piece extra stretchy and extra versatile, too.
