Spring is here which means it's time to take the kiddo outside to enjoy the weather. After you lather him or her up with suncreen, why not top 'em off with my new, granny square and double crochet Flopsy Hat, made with NaturallyCaron.com Country? My daughter fancies herself a fashionista baby so I made her version in a Mod, black & white. With so many great colors available though, you can't go wrong no matter your choice. Want a less feminine look? Leave off the picot stitch and replace it with a simple, single crochet border!

Oh and when you make your Flopsy Hat, don't forget to share a photo with us by uploading it to the Cuckoo for Caron Flickr pool -we love see your finished projects!
Craft. Rock. Love,

Vickie

Ruffles and lace go together like springtime and flowers--and Treva McCain's spectacular Allure Ruffle Front Cardigan proves the comparison so true. Crocheted using a very simple V-stitch without shaping, the cardigan's flare is created when you add the ruffled edge.

The front is closed with a hidden snap, allowing the ruffles to cascade a bit down the front. Stunning.

If you haven't discovered Simply Soft® Shadows yet, then this is the project that will be sure to make you a fan. The long lines and even stitchwork in designer Kim Guzman's beautiful crocheted Ribbon Trim Jacket create a beautiful canvas for Shadows' subtle color changes. All you have to do is follow the pattern and watch the magic unfold. Add in lovely detailed pockets and the perfect ribbon trim and you'll have a wardrobe favorite for years to come.

We are always issuing a challenge to our designers: "What can you come up with using just one skien of One Pound yarn?" A couple of weeks ago, we featured a One Skein Bunny pattern. This week, Marilyn Losee rose to the challenge with her gorgeous One Skein Wrap. Believe it or not, you can make this lovely lacy shawl for under $8, once again proving that One Pound and Caron is your best source for great design and great value, too.
