It's already hit 90 degrees where I live in Austin, TX--a reminder that summer is upon us. Time to put away those bulky, winter wearable knits and bust out the simple, home decor projects! Try my crochet embellished, "I Felt Square" pillows. They whip up quickly and add a lot of color punch to a room for very little money.

Don't forget to check out Movie Mondays for yarnwear caught in your favorite flicks. This week's feature: Zombieland!

Melissa Matthay’s creative aesthetic was truly at work when she designed the Aspira One-Button Tunic. The flow and wearing ease created by the front pleat combined with the incomparable drape of bamboo-blend Spa yarn, make this a truly lovely garment. Full of textural interest and knitterly touches, Aspira will be your wardrobe favorite all through the summer and into the early fall.  A wonderful design!

Play cat and mouse any time with this clever Cat & Mouse Throw & Pillow design in super soft Simply Soft®. Designer Deb Richey has created a study in reverse color kitties that are graphically captivating and so cute at the same time. Surrounded by a border of scurrying mice, these kitties play an endless game of cat and mouse while wrapping you in warmth and comfort.

Can a toddler have too many cardigans? When a breeze picks up at the playground, the air conditioner is set on high at the mall, or a before-bed walk to look at the moon turns chilly, what do you turn to? A cardigan, of course! This week, Kim Guzman shows off her talent with this Hooded Toddler Jacket, crocheted in Simply Soft® Heather. With big buttons, wide sleeves and a roomy hood, it has everything you need for quick warm-ups for little people.
