Hey there! Last week we shared the pattern for my Whirlwind Wrap from the most recent, Simply Soft® ad. This week, I uploaded a video tutorial on the Bullion stitch you'll use when crocheting this project. Click on over to the Caron blog to watch & learn!

Oh, and don't forget to nab the yarn for the wrap, over on Buy.Caron.com!

Stitch.Rock. Love,

Lisa Gentry’s shawl designs are truly unique.  Crocheted in two colors of Spa, Naturally and Green Sheen, the Veranda Shawl has a very interesting construction but uses very basic stitches— just chains, shell or fan stitch clusters and filet-crochet type double crochet sections. The Veranda shawl is constructed in such a way to create a shape that drapes over the shoulders, but, long enough to throw over one shoulder too.

Great News! Due an overwhelming number of customer requests, we've extended our current sale at Buy.Caron.Com until September 12th. Plus, be sure to visit Buy.Caron.Com on September 13th for an exciting sale on a must-have product that you are going to love!

It's always fun to see how our designers combine color and texture to acheive subtle creative effects. In Marilyn Losee's Textured Stripes Throw, Marilyn has been creative indeed. Using simple stitches and 4 solid colors of Simply Soft®, plus one colorway in Simply Soft® Shadows, Marilyn has combined a harmonious palette with delightful surface interest to produce a treasured heirloom throw.

"Paint" a colorful creation for a lucky little girl or boy this fall with Melissa Matthay's adorable Two-Button Hoodie. With Melissa's wonderful design and Simply Soft® Paints, you'll see the gorgeous colorway flow off your needles. The sweet cutaway front, easy closure and generous hood will make this the favorite hoodie this season.

Melissa Matthay
While we are so pleased to share one of Melissa Matthay’s designs with you this week, we are also very saddened by her passing last weekend. I met Melissa in person at one of the TNNA trade shows when I was able to see the wonderful children and baby designs that seemed to be her specialty. Melissa had a wonderful design sense and a long history in knitting. We at Caron will selfishly miss her talent as will the rest of the knitting world. For more information, please visit http://www.bymelissa.net where you can see some of Melissa’s designs and information on how you can contribute to the fund for her two sons. To contribute separately, here’s the mailing address for the fund Melissa’s sister set up for her boys, Aaron and Dylan:

We know of no better way to honor Melissa's memory than to show you a sampling of some of the beautiful designs she created. Thank you, Melissa, for your wonderful work.
