Vickie Howell

Greetings from the Lone Star State! In true Texas fashion, the weather can't decide which season it is. One day it's hot, the next day near freezing. Recently while going through a cold spell, I spent the day indoors knitting up a beanie for my husband. So now, I thought I'd share the project with you.

My Guy HatThe My Guy hat is knit in Sheep(ish) using stockinette stripes, then a series of decreases that create a spiral design at the crown. It's simple, but with a little bit of funk. Get the pattern on the Caron blog, and make your guy (or gal) one today!

Stitch.Rock.Love,

P.S. Please take a moment to vote for me for an About.com Readers Choice Award. Thanks!"

Sucre bead crochet hooksI don’t know if you’ve noticed this, but bead crochet is getting huge,  however the only way I can (and do) spend hours with tiny steel hooks is when they’re Sucre bead crochet hooks with the famous Etimo soft grip – but in sugar-coated colors.  (Sucre = sugar in French).

Candy-Coated Armwarmers

Candy-Coated Armwarmers

With colors so vibrant, these super-soft, Candy-Coated Armwarmers, crocheted in Simply Soft Light, hint at flavors of licorice, mint and berry.   Perfect worn with so-popular three-quarter sleeves, these arm warmers can be customized to be wider around or shorter - it’s all in the pattern.  What makes this design so much fun to stitch is the interesting pattern that’s formed using easy double crochet post-stitches.

talca lace tunicTalca Lace Tunic

Simply stunning is the description best used for Kim Rutledge’s Talca Lace Tunic, crocheted in Country Deep Taupe.  The vertical lace patterning is so figure-friendly and the overall silhouette make this design the perfect wear-to-work-then-out-to-dinner look.  The shell stitching that accents the hem and sleeve edges creates a bold picot and makes the Talca really special.
