TECHNIQUE USED: Knit

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS:
8” high x 32” around slightly stretched

MATERIALS: 

Caron International's Simply Soft color #9727 Black (MC): 1 skein;

Caron International's Simply Soft Brites

color # 9607  Limelight (CC); #11 hand knitting needle (OR SIZE TO ACHIEVE GAUGE); G crochet hook; 1” and 1 1/2” pompon maker.

GAUGE: 
With 1 str MC and 1 str CC held tog in pat st, slightly stretched:  13 sts & 17 rows = 4”

STITCH: 
1 x 1 rib:  Row 1 (right side): *knit 1, purl 1.*  Repeat bet *’s across row.  Row 2:  *purl 1, knit 1.*  Repeat bet *’s across row.  Repeat Rows 1 & 2 for pat st.

SHRUG:
Cast on 116 sts.  Work in pat st until piece measures 8”.  Bind off very loosely across. 

FINISHING:
Seam short ends to join into circle.  Make one 1” pompon in MC, one 1” pompon in CC and one 1 1/2” pompon holding 1 strand of MC and one strand of CC together.  Attach MC along the upper edge of shrug and make a 2” long chain.  Attach large pompon.  Attach MC along upper edge 2” from first pompon and make a 1” long chain.  Attach MC pompon.  Repeat for the last small pompon.
