Caron International's Simply Soft Brites

(100% acrylic; 6 oz/170 g, 330 yds/304 m):
#9603 Papaya, 1 skein
Crochet Hook: One size US H/8 (5 mm), or size to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle (tn)
Pom Pom Maker for 3" Pom Pom

GAUGE
In Splatter stitch, 22 sts = 4"/10 cm
Note: Gauge is not critical for this project.

Chain (ch)
Double crochet (dc)
Single crochet (sc)
Splatter Stitch (multiple of 6 sts + 2):
Foundation Row: Beg in second ch from hook, sc in second ch, * skip 2 ch, in next ch work [(dc, ch 2) twice, dc], skip 2 ch, sc into next ch; rep from * across, turn.
Row 1: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch-2), dc in first sc, * skip 1 dc, sc in next dc, skip next dc *, in next sc work [(dc, ch 2) twice, dc]; rep from * to * once, end in last sc work [dc, ch 2, dc], turn.
Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first dc, * in next sc work [(dc, ch 2) twice, dc], skip 1 dc, sc in next dc, skip next dc; rep from * across, working last sc in third ch of beg ch-5, turn.
Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for Splatter st.

SCARF
Ch 14.
Beg Splatter st; work even until piece measures 60" from beg.
Fasten off.

FINISHING
Using tn, weave in ends.
Using Pom Pom maker, make two pom poms, each 3" in diameter; sew to ends of scarf as shown in photo.
