STITCHES USED

Chain (ch): Begin by making a slip knot on your hook. * Wrap the yarn around the hook (yarn over) and pull up a loop, [draw the yarn through the loop on the hook to form the first chain]. Repeat from * for number of chains required. Note: The loop on the hook is not included when counting the number of chains.

Reverse Single Crochet (Rev sc): Do not turn work. Ch 1, working from left to right, sc in each sc across.

Single Crochet (sc): Insert hook in stitch indicated, yarn over and pull up a loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook.

Slip Stitch (slip st): Insert hook in the stitch indicated, yarn over and draw through both the stitch and the loop on the hook.

Seed Stitch (multiple of 2 sts)

Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as dc), * sc in next st, dc in next st; repeat from * around to last st, sc in last st, join with a slip st to top of beginning ch-3.

Round 2: Ch 1 (counts as sc), dc in each sc, sc in each dc around, join with slip st to beginning ch-1.

Round 3: Ch 3, sc in each dc, dc in each sc around; join with slip st to top of beginning ch-3.

Repeat Rounds 2 and 3 for Seed st.

NOTE

Hat may be made larger around by using a larger hook size, or by increasing additional sts on Round 4; length may be increased by working additional rounds in Seed st before the final round of Rev sc.
