MATERIALS
Caron International's Simply Soft (100% acrylic; 6 oz/170 g, 315 yds/288 m skein):

#9712 Soft Blue (A), 3 skeins

#9739 Soft Green (C), 3 skeins

Caron International's Simply Soft Brites (100% acrylic; 6 oz/170 g, 315 yds/288 m skein):

#9601 Coconut (B), 2 skeins

One circular needle size US 10 1/2 (6.5 mm), 30" long, or size to obtain gauge

Note: Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of stitches; work back and forth in rows.

Yarn needle

GAUGE

In stitch pattern 9.5 sts and 18 rows = 4"/10 cm

 

ABBREVIATION

K1-f/b (increase): Knit into the front and back loop of stitch.

Stitch Pattern (multiple – even number of sts)

Note: Stitch count varies – only count sts after Rows 2 and 4.

Rows 1 and 3 (RS): K1-f/b in each st across.

Row 2: *K2 tog, P2 tog; repeat from * across.

Row 4: *P2 tog, K2 tog; repeat from * across.

Repeat Rows 1 – 4 for Stitch pattern.

 

STRIPE SEQUENCE (Also see Diagram)

In Stitch pattern, * work 7 1/2" using A, 2 1/2" using B, 7 1/2" using C *, 2 1/2" using B; repeat from * to * once.

NOTE

Change colors after working Rows 2 or 4.

 

AFGHAN

Using A, cast on 80 sts.

Begin Stripe Sequence in Stitch pattern; work even until Stripe Sequence is completed, ending with Row 1 or 3 using C.

Bind off all sts in pattern (working as for Row 2 or 4).

 

FINISHING
