#9759 Ocean (A), 1 skein
#9761 Plum Perfect (B), 1 skein
#9742 Grey Heather (C), 1 skein
#9758 Forest Floor (D), 1 skein


NEEDLES


Size US 6 (4mm) double pointed needles
Size US 7 (4.5mm) double pointed needles, or size to obtain gauge.

GAUGE
In Stockinette stitch, 19 sts and 24 rnds = 4"/10cm, using larger needles.

STITCHES USED
Garter stitch (worked in rnds):
Knit 1 rnd, purl 1 rnd.

Stockinette stitch (worked in rnds):
Knit every rnd.

SPECIAL STITCHES
k1-f/b: Knit next st, then knit it through the back loop. (1 st increased)
k2tog: Knit 2 sts together through the front loops. (1 st decreased)
ssk: Slip 2 sts, one at a time knitwise to right-hand needle, insert LH needle into front of these sts and knit them together (1 st decreased)

NOTES
1. Arm Warmers are worked in rounds from top (finger edge) to lower edge.
2. Right and left arm warmer are the same except for placement of thumb gusset.

 

RIGHT ARM WARMER
With larger needles and A, CO 36 sts. (Note: It is recommended using long tail method for cast on.)
Join in a rnd, taking care not to twist sts, distributing sts evenly over dpns as follows:
With yarn in back, sl first st on RH needle to LH needle, bring yarn to front between the needles, sl first 2 sts on LH needle to RH needle, bring yarn to back between needles, sl first st on RH needle to LH needle; place marker for beg of rnd.
Beg with a k rnd, work in Garter st for 4 rnds.
Work in St st for 2 rnds.
Work Dot Chart for 2 rnds.
Change to A.
Work in St st for 1 rnd.

Shape Gusset
Next Rnd: K6, place marker (pm), CO 14 sts, pm, k to end of rnd - 50 sts. (Note: It is recommended using cable cast on method to CO 14 gusset sts.)
Next Rnd: Purl.
Dec Rnd: K to first marker, slip marker (sm), k2tog, k to 2 sts before next marker, ssk, sm, k to end of round - 48 sts (12 sts between markers).
Repeat last 2 rnds 5 more times - 38 sts rem (2 sts between markers).
Next Rnd: K to 1 st before first marker, k2tog and remove marker, ssk and remove marker, k to end of rnd - 36 sts.
Inc Rnd: K4, [k1-f/b, k8] 3 times, k1-f/b, k4 - 40 sts.
Work Slip Stitch Chart for 14 rnds.
With A, work in St st for 1 rnd.
Work Zig Chart for 4 rnds.
With A, work in St st for 1 rnd.
Work Dash Chart for 5 rnds.
Inc Rnd: With A, k9, k1-f/b, k19, k1-f/b, k10 - 42 sts.
Work Dot Chart for 2 rnds.
With A, work in St st until piece measures 13"/33cm from beg.
Dec Rnd: K10, k2tog, k19, k2tog, k9 - 40 sts.

Ribbing
Change to smaller needles.
Next Rnd: *K1, p2, k2; repeat from * around.
Repeat last rnd until ribbing measures 1"/2.5cm
BO in rib.

LEFT ARM WARMER
Work same as right arm warmer to gusset shaping.

Shape Gusset
Next Round: K30, place marker (pm), CO 14 sts, pm, k to end of rnd - 50 sts.
Complete as for right arm warmer.

 

FINISHING
