PATTERN STITCH

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for pattern.

BACK

With larger hook and MC, ch 79 (87, 95, 107, 115).

Foundation Row: Hdc in 5th ch from hook (beg ch counts as hdc, ch 1), *ch 1, sk next ch, hdc in next ch; repeat from * across, turn—38 (42, 46, 52, 56) ch-1 sps.

Shape Armholes

Row 1 (WS): Sl st in first 7 (9, 11, 15, 17) sc, ch 2 (counts as hdc, ch 1), hdc in next sc, *ch 1, sk next sc, hdc in next sc; repeat from * to last 6 (8, 10, 14, 16) sc; leave last 6 (8, 10, 14, 16) sc unworked—32 (34, 36, 38, 40) ch-1 sps.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 of pattern stitch until armhole measures 7 (7 1/2, 8, 8, 8 1/2)"/18 (19, 20.5, 20.5, 21.5) cm from beginning of armhole shaping, ending with a RS row.

Shape Left Shoulder

Row 1 (WS): Ch 1, sc in first 2 sc, [ch 1, sk next sc, sc in next sc] 0 (1, 1, 2, 2) times, [ch 1, sk next sc, hdc in next sc] 3 (3, 4, 4, 4) times, [ch 1, sk next sc, dc in next sc] 4 (4, 4, 4, 5) times, turn; leave remaining sts unworked—7 (8, 9, 10, 11) ch-1 sps.

Shape Right Shoulder

With WS facing, sk center 32 sc of Back neck, with larger hook join MC in next st.

LEFT FRONT

With larger hook and MC, ch 41 (45, 49, 55, 59).

Foundation Row: Hdc in 5th ch from hook (beg ch counts as hdc, ch 1), *ch 1, sk next ch, hdc in next ch; repeat from * across, turn—19 (21, 23, 26, 28) ch-1 sps.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 of pattern stitch until piece measures same as back to underarm, ending with RS row.

Shape Armhole and Neck

Row 1 (WS):Ch 2 (counts as hdc, ch1), sk next 2 sc, hdc in next sc, *ch 1, sk next sc, hdc in next sc; repeat from * to last 6 (8, 10, 14, 16) sc, turn; leave remaining sts unworked—15 (16, 17, 18, 19) ch-1 sps.

Fasten off.

SLEEVE (make 2)

With larger hook and MC, ch 39 (39, 39, 39, 43).

Foundation Row: Hdc in 5th ch from hook (beg ch counts as hdc, ch 1), *ch 1, sk next ch, hdc in next ch; repeat from * across, turn—18 (18, 18, 18, 20) ch-1 sps.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 of pattern stitch until piece measures 1"/2.5 cm, ending with a RS row.

Shape Sleeve

Row 1 (increase row - WS):Ch 1 (counts as hdc only), hdc in first sc (increase made), ch 1, hdc in next sc, *ch 1, sk next sc, hdc in next sc; repeat from * across, hdc in same sc (increase made), turn—18 (18, 18, 18, 20) ch-1 sps.

Row 2: Ch 1, sc in first hdc, 2 sc in each ch-1 sp across, sc in top of turning ch—38 (38, 38, 38, 42) sc.

Continue in pattern stitch and repeat increase row every other row 0 (1, 4, 4, 3) more times, then every 4 rows 13 (14, 13, 13, 14) times, ending with a WS row—64 (68, 72, 72, 76) sts.

Repeat Rows 1 and 2 of pattern stitch until piece measures 19 (19 1/4, 19 3/4, 20, 20 1/2)"/48.5 (49, 50, 51, 52)cm, ending with a RS row. Fasten off.

FLOWER (make 4 each with B, C, and D)

With smaller hook, ch 4; join with sl st in first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: [Ch 3, sl st in ring] 5 times.

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

LEAF (make 4 with A)

With smaller hook, ch 12.

Row 1: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next ch, sl st in last ch; ch 26, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and in next 24 ch (tendril made); working along opposite side of foundation ch, sl st in first ch, sc in next ch, hdc in next 2 ch, dc in next 3 ch, hdc in next 2 ch, sc in next ch, sl st in next ch.

Fasten off leaving a long tail for sewing.

FINISHING

Using yarn needle, weave in ends. Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams. Set in sleeves. Sew sleeve and side seams.

Edging

With RS facing and smaller hook, join MC in lower right seam.

Round 1: Work sc evenly spd around all edges, working 5 sc in lower right and left corners, and 2 sc in front corners of neck shaping; join with sl st in first sc.

Round 2: Ch 1, sc in each st to lower right corner, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each st up right front to 11 sts before first corner of neck shaping; make buttonholes: ch 2, sk next 2 sts, sc in next 6 sts, ch 2, sk next 2 sts, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next st; sc in each st to next corner of neck shaping, 2 sc in corner; sc in each st to lower left front, 3 sc in corner st, sc in each remaining st across; join with sl st in first sc.

Round 3: Ch 1, sc in each st and ch-1 sp around, working 3 sc in lower right and left corner, and 2 sc in front corners of neck shaping; join with sl st in first sc.

Sew buttons opposite buttonholes.

Sleeve Edging

With smaller hook join MC in edge of sleeve.

Round 1: Working along opposite side of foundation ch, ch 1, (sc, ch 3, sc) in same sp, (sc, ch 3, sc) in each sp around; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.

Using flower arrangement diagram and photograph as a guide, sew leaves and flowers around front neck edge of garment. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
