NOTE
Pattern is worked in one piece from the bottom to armholes then divided for fronts and back.
When working Lace Pattern and decreasing, if there are not enough stitches to work a half repeat of 7 stitches knit or purl the stitches as the pattern dictates.
VEST
With 24" needle, CO 134 (148, 162, 176, 190) sts.
Row 1-6: Knit.
Row 7 (RS): K3, work Row 1 of Lace patt to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 8: K3, work Row 2 of Lace patt to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 9: K3, work Row 3 of Lace patt to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 10: K3, work Row 4 of Lace patt to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 11: K3, work Row 5 of Lace patt to last 3 sts, k3.
Row 12: K3, work Row 6 of Lace patt to last 3 sts, k3.
Continue working in est patt, keeping first 3 and last 3 sts in k every row, until piece measures 18 (18, 19 ½, 20 ½, 20 ½)” from beg, ending with a WS row.
Right Front
Row 1 (RS): Work in est patt on 33 (33, 40, 40, 47) sts for Right Front; place rem sts on holder.

Back
With RS facing, return to last long row, place next 5 sts on holder or scrap yarn for armhole, rejoin yarn and work 58 (72, 72, 86, 86) sts in est patt, leaving rem sts on holder. Work in est patt for 7 ¼ (7 ¾, 8 ¼, 8 ¼, 9 ¼)”, ending with a RS row.
Next row: Work 8 (8, 8, 15, 15) sts in Lace patt, k42 (56, 56, 56, 56) sts, work rem 8 (8, 8, 15, 15) sts in Lace patt.
Rep last row 5 times more.
Place 11 (11, 11, 18, 18) sts on a holder, BO center 36 (50, 50, 50, 50) sts, place last 11 (11, 11, 18, 18) sts on holder.
Left Front
Place next 5 sts on holder or scrap yarn for armhole, rejoin yarn and work 33 (33, 40, 40, 47) sts in est patt .
Next row: Work even.
Row 3 (dec row): Work in patt to last 6 sts, k2tog, k4.
Row 4 (dec row): K3, p1, p2tog, work in patt to end.

FINISHING
With RS of each shoulder facing, using 3-needle BO, join shoulders.
Armhole edging:
Place 5 sts from holder on 16" circular needle, rejoin yarn then pick up and knit sts evenly around armhole ending with 5 sts from 2nd holder. Join, placing marker at beg of rnd..
Rnd 1: Purl
Rnd 2: Knit
Rnd 3: Purl
BO all sts.
Rep for other armhole.
Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
CLOSURE
Cut a piece of yarn 6 yds long. Measure 100” on this piece of yarn and make a slip knot.
First Ring: Working with first length of yarn (leaving the 100” free for now), ch 48, sl st in 4th ch from hook to form a ring. Work 16 dc in center of ring. Join with a sl st to top of first dc. Fasten off.
Second Ring Now working with the 100” length of yarn on other side of slip knot, insert hook in first ch, sl st in 4th ch from hook to form a ring. Work 16 dc in center of ring. Join with a sl st to top of first dc. Fasten off.
Thread closure through fronts.
