#9707 Dark Sage (A): 3 skeins

#9702 Off White (B): 3 skeins

#9755 Sunshine (C): 1 skein

One size US I-9 (5.5mm) hook, or size to obtain gauge

Locking stitch marker (for holding one stitch)

GAUGE

In pattern, 1 pattern repeat = 3"/7.5cm; 8 rows = 4"/10cm. Note: One pattern repeat consists of one "daisy".

Gauge is not critical for this project.

 

STITCHES USED

Chain (ch), double crochet (dc), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st)

 

SPECIAL STITCH

dc4tog: Double crochet 4 together—[Yarn over, insert hook in next stitch and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook] 4 times, yarn over and draw through all 5 loops on hook.

picot: Ch 3, sl st in 3rd ch from hook.

 

NOTE

To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over, yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Fasten off old color.

 

THROW

With A, ch 206.

Row 1 (RS): Sc in 8th ch from hook (beginning ch counts as 2 foundation ch, dc, ch 2), *ch 5, sk next 4 ch, sc in next ch; repeat from * to last 3 ch, ch 2, sk next 2 ch, dc in last ch, turn—2 dc, 2 ch-2 sps, 40 sc, and 39 ch-5 sps.

Row 2 (WS): Ch 3, 3 dc in first ch-2 sp, ch 2, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 2, *(3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in next ch-5 sp, ch 2, sc in next ch-5 sp, ch 2; repeat from * across to last ch-sp, 3 dc in last ch-sp, dc in 5th ch of beginning ch; change to B in last st, turn—19 pattern repeats and 1/2 repeat on each end of row. Fasten off A.

Row 3 (RS): With B, ch 1, sc in first dc, ch 3, dc in next 3 dc, sk next 2 ch-2 sps, dc in next 3 dc, *ch 3, sc in next ch-2 sp, ch 3, dc in next 3 dc, sk next 2 ch-2 sps, dc in next 3 dc; repeat from * across, ch 3, sc in top of turning ch, do not turn—20 pattern repeats (lower half of 20 "daisies"). Remove loop from hook and place on locking stitch marker. Do not fasten off.

Row 4 (RS): With RS still facing, join C with sc in first sc, sk first ch-3 sp, *ch 4, sk next dc, dc4tog over next 4 dc, ch 4, sc in next sc; repeat from * across, changing color in last sc, as follows: insert hook in last sc and draw up a loop, drop C, place loop of B from stitch marker back on hook and draw through the 2 loops on hook, turn—20 pattern repeats (center of 20 "daisies"). Fasten off C.

Note: In the next row, stitches are worked into the sc stitches of Row 4 (1 row below) and the skipped dc stitches of Row 3 (2 rows below).

Row 5 (WS): With B, ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), working behind ch-4 sps (to keep the ch-4 sps on WS of work), sc in next skipped dc 2 rows below, ch 5, sk next dc4tog, sc in next skipped dc 2 rows below, *ch 4, sc in next sc, ch 4, sc in next skipped dc 2 rows below, ch 5, sk next dc4tog, sc in next skipped dc 2 rows below; repeat from * across to last sc, ch 2, dc in last sc, turn.

Round 1 (RS): With RS still facing, rotate piece to work in ends of rows across one side edge; ch 3 (counts as dc), work 141 more dc evenly spaced across side edge; ch 2 for corner; working across opposite side of foundation ch, 2 dc in first ch-sp, [dc in next ch (at base of an sc), 3 dc in next ch-sp] 39 times, dc in next ch (at base of an sc), 2 dc in last ch-sp; ch 2 for corner; work 142 dc evenly spaced across 2nd side edge; ch 2 for corner; working across top of throw, 2 dc in first ch-sp, [dc in next sc, 3 dc in next ch-sp] 39 times, dc in next sc, 2 dc in last ch-sp; ch 2 for corner; join with sl st in top of beginning ch—606 dc, and 4 ch-2 sps.

Round 2: *(Sc, picot, sc) in next dc, sc in next dc; repeat from * around, working (sc, picot, sc) in each corner ch-2 sp; join with sl st in first sc. Fasten off.
