Scarf measures approximately 5 1/2 x 61"/14 x 155cm

 

MATERIALS

Caron International's Simply Soft Collection (100% Acrylic): 6 1/2 oz (A), 1/2 oz (B), 1/2 oz (C), 1/2 oz (D), 1/2 oz (E)

Shown in: #0015 Strawberry (A); #0016 Melon (B);  #0017 Lemon (C); #0003 Pistachio (D); #0004 Blueberry (E)

One size US H-8 (5mm) crochet hook, or size to obtain gauge.

Pom-pon maker for 2"/5cm Pom-pons

Yarn needle

 

GAUGE

In single crochet, 16 sts and 17 rows = 4"/10cm.

 

STITCHES USED

Chain (ch), single crochet (sc)

 

SPECIAL TERM

sc2tog: Single crochet 2 together—Insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, (2 loops on hook), insert hook in next stitch, yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through all 3 loops on hook.

 

SCARF

With A, ch 2.

Row 1: Work 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, turn—2 sc.

Row 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc across, turn—4 sc.

Row 3: Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc in each sc to last sc, 2 sc in last sc, turn—6 sc.

Rows 3–11: Repeat Row 3 eight times—22 sc.

Row 12: Ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn.

Repeat Row 12 until scarf measures about 56"/142cm from beginning.

Next Row (decrease row): Ch 1, sc2tog, sc in each sc across to last 2 sc, sc2tog, turn—20 sc.

Repeat decrease row 9 times, until there are only 2 sc remaining.

Last Row: Ch 1, sc2tog—1 sc.

Fasten off.

 

FINISHING

Weave in ends. Block lightly, if needed.

Pom-pons (make 8 – 2 each with B, C, D, and E)

Following Pom-pon maker directions, make eight 2"/10cm Pom-pons, 2 each with B, C, D, and E. Sew Pom-pons to scarf, randomly placed near one end of scarf.
