One pair each U.S. size 11 (8mm) needles or size to obtain gauge

GAUGE

In St st, using U.S. size 11 (8mm) needles and yarn doubled, 11 sts and  15 rows = 4"/10cm

In k2, p2 rib, using U.S. size 11 (8mm) needles and yarn doubled, 12 sts and 16 rows = 4"/10cm

 

ABBREVIATION

F3C: Slip 3 sts to cable needle (cn) and hold in front, k3, then k3 from cn

 

NOTES

Garment is worked with two strands of yarn held together throughout.

The gauge and measurements will vary depending upon the rib worked.

Shape shoulder

Maintaining patt, BO 11 (12, 13) sts at side edge once, leaving remaining 14 sts on leave for cable collar. Continue in patt for 3 ½, (4, 5)" more or until piece reaches center back of neck. Place sts on holder.

Adjust length of Right and Left Front cable collar extension, if necessary, so that they meet at center Back of neck and with a 3rd needle work a 3-needle BO.

 

SLEEVES

With two strands of yarn held tog, CO 32 (36, 40) sts.

Work in k2, p2 rib inc 1 st at each edge every 6th row 5 (7, 8) times working inc sts in rib patt—42 (50, 56) sts. Work even until piece measures 17 (18, 18)" from beg, ending with a WS row.

Shape cap

BO 2 (3, 4) sts at beg of next 2 rows. Then dec 1 st at each edge every other row 9 ( 11, 13) times—20 (22, 22) sts.

BO row: K2tog at the same time binding off all sts across row.

 

FINISHING

Sew shoulder and side seams. Sew back collar to Back neck. Sew in Sleeves. Sew Sleeve seams. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
