Establish Pattern

Row 1 (WS): P13 (15, 17, 19), (yo, k2tog) twice, p3, (yo, k2tog) twice, p4, (yo, k2tog) twice, p3,(yo, k2tog) twice, p3, (yo, k2tog) five times, place marker (pm), p12, pm, (yo, k2tog) five times, p3, (yo, k2tog) twice,p3, (yo, k2tog) twice, p4, (yo, k2tog),twice, p3, (yo, k2tog) twice, p13 (15, 17, 19).

Continue in pattern as established until piece measures 25 (26, 27, 27)" from beginning, end with a RS row.

Place sts on holders.

FRONT

Work as for back until piece measures 20 (21, 21, 20)” from beginning.

Shape Neck

(RS) Work across 52 (54, 56, 58) sts to first marker, join a second ball of yarn and bind off 12 sts, work to end.

Turn. Work across 52 (54, 56, 58) sts to first marker, pick up 1 st in side of bound off sts at the beginning of next needle and continue in pattern purling this st on the RS and knit it on the WS, keeping the remainder of row in the previously established pattern. (Note: This picked up st is a stabilizer for the collar that will be knit later.)

Working both sides at same time, continue in pattern until piece measures 25 (26, 27, 27)” from beginning, ending with a RS row and on last row purl last 2 sts together on first needle, eliminating the stabilizing st you picked up earlier. Place 52 (54, 56, 58) sts shoulder sts on separate holders.

SLEEVES (make 2)

Cast on 36 (38, 44, 44) sts.

Begin 2x2 rib; work until piece measures 1” from beginning.

Establish Pattern

Row 1 (WS): P12 (13, 16, 16) pm, (yo, k2tog) twice, p4, (yo, k2tog) twice, pm, p12 (13, 16, 16).

Row 3 and all odd rows: P to marker, sm, (yo, k2tog) twice, p4, (yo, k2tog) twice, sm, p to end.

Row 4: K to marker, sm, p4, C4F, p4, sm, k to end.

Shape Sleeve

(RS) Maintaining pattern, inc 1 st each side of this row, then every 4 rows 21 (22, 20, 22) times more working inc sts in St st –80 (82, 86, 90) sts. Continue even in pattern even until piece measures 18 (18 1/2, 19 1/2, 20)" from the beginning, end with a WS row. Bind off all sts.

FINISHING

Join 39 (42, 44, 46) shoulder sts on front and back using 3-needle bind off, leaving 12 sts of back neck on a holder. Set in sleeves; sew sleeve and side seams.

Collar

With RS facing, transfer 12 back neck sts from holder to circular needle, *work across these 12 sts in 2x2 rib; at end of row pick up and knit 4 sts over the next 1/2” of neckline, turn and rep picking up and knit 4 sts on other side. * Rep until sts have been picked up along both left and right sides of the neckline.  Do not pick up st along the front bind off edge of the neckline.

Continue in 2x2 rib until collar measures 2 “ from the last set of picked up sts. BO 32 sts in pattern at beginning of next 2 rows.  Continue in 2x2 rib until collar measures 2” from BO just made. BO all sts loosely in pattern.

Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
