Caron International's Simply Soft Heather (100% acrylic; 5 oz/141.8 g, 250 yds/228 m skein): 7 skeins (MC); Simply Soft Brites (100% acrylic; 6 oz/170 g, 315 yds/288 m skein): 1 skein (A); Simply Soft (100% acrylic; 6 oz/170 g, 315 yds/288 m skein): 1 skein each (B) and (C)

Gauge is not critical for this project.
In Stitch pattern, 14 sts and 17 rows = 4"/10 cm, using larger hook

SPECIAL TERMS
FPdc: (Front Post double crochet) Yarn over, insert hook from front to back to front around stitch indicated, yarn over and pull up loop, [yarn over and draw through 2 loops] twice.
FPtr: (Front Post treble crochet) Yarn over, insert hook from front to back to front around stitch indicated, yarn over and pull up loop, [yarn over and draw through 2 loops] 3 times.
RT: (Right Twist) Skip next sc, FPdc around next 3 dc, sc in sc behind previous FPdc.
LT: (Left Twist) Sc in next sc, FPdc around next 3 dc.

Row 2 and every WS rows: Ch 1, sc in each st across, turn. Row 3: Ch 1, sc, 4 FPdc, sc, (3 FPdc, 8 sc, 3 FPdc) 5 times, sc, 4 FPdc, sc, turn.
Row 5: Ch 1, sc, cable, sc, (LT, 6 sc, RT) 5 times, sc, cable, sc, turn.
Row 7:

FINISHING
Edging: Using larger hook, join MC in a corner st; work 3 sc in same st and joining, * working across long edge of piece, sc in every other row to corner, work 3 sc in corner, sc in each st across short edge), work 3 sc in corner; repeat from * once on remaining 2 sides; join with a slip st to first st. Fasten off. Using yarn needle, weave in all ends. Embroidery: Using yarn needle and colors A, B and C, work embroidery, Lazy daisy and Straight stitch flowers (see Diagrams), using photo as a guide for placement.
