CROCHETED MEASUREMENTS

Ponytail holder circumference determined by size of purchased ponytail band

MATERIALS

Caron International's Simply Soft Party (99% acrylic, 1% polyester; 3oz/85g, 171yds/156m):

Color #0005 Royal Sparkle, 1oz/28g for ponytail holder

One size US H-8 (5mm) crochet hook or size to obtain gauge

Purchased ponytail band, 2"/5cm or larger

STITCHES USED

Chain (ch), double crochet (dc), single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st)

PONYTAIL HOLDER

Rnd 1: With crochet hook, work sc around ponytail band, as follows: Place a slip knot on the hook, *insert hook into center of ponytail band (as if band were a st), yarn over and draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through both loops on hook (sc made); rep from * working as many sc around the band as possible; join with sl st in first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch 2, 3 dc in each sc around; join with sl st in top of beg ch.

Rnd 3: *Ch 6, sl st in next dc; rep from * around working last sl st in first dc (at base of first ch-6).

Fasten off.

FINISHING

Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
