Circumference around hand: 8 (9)”/20.5 (23)cm

Shop Online
Vickie Howell for Caron Sheep(ish)
(70% Acrylic/30% Wool; 3oz/85g, 167yds/153m):
Gun Metal(ish): 2 skeins

Shop Online
One pair U.S. size 8 (5mm) double-pointed needles or size to obtain correct gauge.

ADDITIONAL MATERIALS
Stitch marker
Tapestry needle

GAUGE
In Stockinette stitch, 18 sts and 22 rows = 4”/10cm

PATTERN STITCH

Half-linen Stitch worked in-the-rnd (multiple of 2 sts):
Rnd 1: *K1, yf, sl 1; rep from * around.
Rnd 2: Knit.
Rnd 3: K2, *yf, sl 1, k1; rep from * around
Rnd 4: Knit.
Rep Rnds 1-4 for Half-linen st worked in-the-rnd.
Half-linen Stitch worked back and forth (multiple of 2 sts):
Row 1 (RS): *K1, yf, sl 1; rep from * around.
Row 2 (WS): Purl.
Row 3: K2, *yf, sl 1, k1; rep from * around
Row 4: Purl.
Rep Rows 1-4 for Half-linen st worked back and forth.

WRIST WARMERS (Make 2)

Cuff
CO 36 (40) sts, divide evenly onto 3-4 dpns. Place marker and join, taking care not to twist sts.Work around in k2, p2 rib until piece measures 4”/10cm from CO edge.

Hand
Work in Half-linen st (worked in-the-rnd) until piece measures 5 ½ (6)”/14 (15)cm from CO edge, ending with pat Rnd 4.

Thumb Hole
Work back and forth in Half-linen st (in rows) for next 2 ½ (3)”/6.5 (7.5)cm thereby creating an opening for the thumb.

Upper Hand
Change back to working in-the-rnd in Half-linen st (this will close the top of the thumb slit) until piece measures 9 (10)”/23 (25.5)cm from CO edge.

Edging
Work around in k2, p2 rib for 4 rnds. BO in rib.

FNISHING
Weave in ends.
