Note: In this design, a dc2tog is always worked over the next 3 stitches, skipping the 2nd stitch. Sometimes the next 3 stitches consist of ch-1, dc, ch-1. Other times, the next 3 stitches consist of 3 sc.

NOTE
Beret is worked in two parts, the body and the band. The body is worked in joined rounds, with RS facing at all times. Join, but do not turn at the end of rounds. The band is worked separately, back and forth in rows, and sewn to the body of the hat.
