NOTES
1. Case is worked in continuous rounds, from the bottom up. Do not join and do not turn at the ends of rounds. You may wish to use a stitch marker for the beginning of rounds, moving it up as work progresses.

2. Ribbing is crocheted separately, back and forth in rows, and sewn to top of case.

3. To change color, work last stitch of old color to last yarn over. Yarn over with new color and draw through all loops on hook to complete stitch. Proceed with new color. Carry color not in use up inside of bag case until next needed.

CASE

Beginning at bottom of case, with A, ch 30.

Round 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 27 ch, 2 sc in last ch; rotate piece to work across opposite side of foundation ch, sc in next 28 ch, 2 sc in beginning ch—60 sts.

Round 2: With A, sc in each st around.

Round 3: With A, *sc in next st, dc in next st; repeat from * around; change to B in last st.

Round 4: With B, *dc in next st, sc in next st; repeat from * around; change to A in last st.

Rounds 5–30: Repeat Rounds 3 and 4, alternating colors.

Round 31: With A, sc in each st around.

Fasten off.  Weave in ends and set aside.

RIBBING

With A, ch 6.

Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 4 ch, turn—5 sts.

Row 2–55: Ch 1, working in back loops only, sc in each st across, turn.

Joining Row: Fold piece in half, matching sts of last row and foundation ch, ch 1, working through both thicknesses, sl st in each st across to join ribbing into a ring.

Edging Round: Working across one long edge of piece, work 60 sc evenly spaced around—60 sts.

Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing ribbing to top of case.

FINISHING

Sew edging round of ribbing to last round of case. Using yarn needle, weave in ends.
