SPECIAL TECHNIQUES
Tunisian Simple Stitch (Tss): Each row of Tunisian simple stitch is worked in two steps; a forward pass and a return pass.
Forward Pass: Working from right to left, hold working yarn behind work, skip first vertical bar (at edge of piece), *insert hook under next vertical bar, yarn over and draw up a loop; repeat from * across, keeping all loops on hook.
Return Pass: Working from left to right, yarn over and draw through first loop on hook, *yarn over and draw through 2 loops on hook; repeat from * across.
NOTE
Cowl is worked in a 3-Color pattern. To change color, drop old color and pick up new color. When a new color is first used, leave a long beginning tail to weave in later. Carry colors not in use up side of piece until next needed; do not fasten off any colors until Cowl is complete.
